I added my contents using my flat plan to help me. I decided to divide it up into sections- features and regulars. I added a picture and put a number on it so that it relates to the contents. Also, I added Facebook and twitter icons as I want my magazine to be involved in social media so that it gets more publicity. I also added the page numbers and branding (Understatement) to follow the conventions of professional music magazines.

Contents Page Sample 1
I finished creating my Front Cover so I decided to start creating my contents page on InDesign. As you can see I will be having two contents page. I also added ruler lines in so that it looks neat and proportional. I created the black oval in Photoshop.
Chosen Images for contents page
I chose these images for my contents page as they relate to my contents. I chose the first image because it looks similar to the front cover image, in my research I found out that most music magazines do this. I chose the second and third image, as these images are quite girly and this will represent my target audience which is females.

Final Front cover
This is the front cover of my magazine which was created in Photoshop. I stuck to my three colour scheme which is red, black and white. I also added all the conventions of a professional magazine for example: bar code, price etc...Overall, I would say that this front cover was fairly easy to make after I played around with the tools on Photoshop.

Front cover sample 3
I decided to change my masthead colour as the black looked Gothic and this would not suit my R&B/Hip-Hop genre. I also created my masthead in Illustrator as this software allows me to widen my masthead. Also, I started working on my coverlines using my flat plan- I used different colours that are all in my 3 colour scheme (red, black and white) to make the front cover bright.

Front cover sample 2
I decided to make the model in the picture bigger so that the model is the most important on the front cover. I forgot to add the rulers so I added them.

Front cover sample
As I have finished my photo shoot, I decided to get started on designing my front cover of my music magazine. The image of the model was initially a wide shot however I cropped it so that it is a mid-shot. Cropping the image was very easy, I also brightened the image which was also very easy to do. In my house style sheets, I decided to do my masthead in red however, I changed my mind and now I would like it to be black as it looks better. All of the image manipulation was done on Adobe Photoshop.
